Weathering vs. Erosion Article and Venn Diagram

In this activity you will begin to explore the difference and similarities of Weathering and Erosion. 


1. Read and annotate the following two articles. 

PURPOSE FOR READING: What are the characteristics of 


Fill out the Venn Diagram with the information from each of the articles you read.

 

Instructions: 

1. In the circle on the left labeled Weathering – you will write down information from the weathering article that is unique to weathering. 

2. In the circle on the right labeled Erosion – you will write down information from the erosion article that is unique to weathering. 

3. In the space in the middle where the circles overlap you will write things that both weathering and erosion have in common. 

Each person’s Venn Diagram may be different as you may have recorded different information. This is ok, but if you would like to check what you have you can take a look at the Key.


EXAMPLE OF VENN DIAGRAM

Below is an example of a Venn Diagram of two types of fruit. They are comparing similarities and differences between a Banana and a Lemon.  Notice in the middle are terms that describe both.
