Geologic Processes – Frayer Model

Choose two of the geological processes vocab words from the worksheet you filled out when you played the Slow and Fast Changes Game. One of the words should represent a FAST geological process, and the second word should represent a SLOW geological process.

After you choose your two words, you fill out what is called a Frayer Model for each word. A Frayer Model is way to help you show your understanding in multiple ways of a vocabulary term.

See an example of a Frayer Model here:

Instructions:

Complete this template with your chosen word.

There are two pages. 1 for a FAST Geological Change and 1 for a SLOW Geological Change. Make sure you do BOTH!

  1. Write the word you have chosen from the vocabulary you learned playing the Slow and Fast Changes Game in the middle box on the worksheet. You should also circle whether it is a slow or fast change.

2. In the upper left corner write a definition in your own words. Do not copy the definition. Read it and write it like you would explain what it is to a friend.

3. In the upper right corner you will draw a picture of your word.

4.  In the lower left corner you will give examples of where you have experienced or have seen examples in the real world. For example, have you ever seen a mountain in person? You can write about it.

5. In the lower right corner you will write about experiences or things you have seen in your life that are NOT examples. Think of this as the opposite of your vocab word.
